The U.S. Green Building Council 2009 Green Jobs Report

This study, released at Greenbuild 2009, was conducted by the U.S. Green Building Council and Booz Allen Hamilton, and predicts that the green building industry will be responsible for the creation or support of 7.9 million jobs, contributing $554 billion to the U.S. GDP, in the next four years.

CSR is an issue who's time has come!

Senator Nick Sherry suggests that developments in CSR are not a short term trend, but represent a fundamental shift in how we do business.

He said "CSR has contined to develop well beyond its philanthropic and community beginnings, and there is now a growing realisation that a business can not operate in a void - insulated from the people, community and society in which they seek success. It's not just about how a business distributes its profits, but how it goes about making that profit across the organisation". 

While terms like 'corporate social responsibility' and 'responsible investment' may sound altruistic, they all boil down to sustainable business practices. The kind of business practices Australia needs right now."

In the US - nearly nine out of 10 business leaders polled by Business for Social Responsibility have said they believe that US President-elect Barrack Obama will have a positive impact on the promotion of the CSR agenda  Read on...
